About the book
A.W. Tozer’s The Knowledge of the Holy is a classic Christian book. If you haven’t read it yet, add it to the top of your reading list. It’s not light reading, but I promise it’s worth your time. When my faith was challenged, I looked for intellectual answers to many questions, but it was studying God’s character that ultimately brought my heart back to faith.
Twelve years later, after reading through The Jesus Storybook Bible with my daughter, I went looking for what to teach her next. Parenting can be overwhelming. How do you teach your child to love God? How do you teach your child what is right and wrong? How do you help them understand who they are?
God reminded me that our job is simply to point their hearts toward Him. Our kids don’t just need to know about God, they need to meet Him. That starts with teaching our children the attributes of God. When they meet God, they’ll know who it is they’re trusting, they’ll know what is right and wrong, and they’ll know who God has made them to be.
Unable to find a children’s devotional that walked through the attributes of God, I began to write one, and when Taylor sat down next to me at a women’s ministry event, the rough draft became reality.
My prayer is that this book helps many children and their parents know who God is and who He has made them to be.
